The Team

Our governance board works with the core team to devise strategy and ensure our legal responsibilities are met. The board is small and made up of talented people who have strong experience building businesses and community groups.

Ben Wilson - Interim Chair

Ben works in the Office of the Chairman at Liberty House Group. His financial career has been focussed on banking and traditional industry, including working previously for Nomura International, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group and Noble Group. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and holds an MBA. Ben supports North London Cares’ financial management.

David Easton - Trustee

David is an Investment Manager at CDC Group, responsible for investments in Africa and South East Asia. David was previously at Bridges Ventures and – before that – worked for the Tony Blair Africa Governance Initiative and McKinsey & Company. As well as working with North London Cares, David is on the Steering Committee for the Greenwich Free School and is a mentor on the OnPurpose Social Enterprise Leadership scheme.

Vix Anderton - Trustee

Vix works to improve the lives of women and girls as individuals, in organisations, and in society. She is passionate about mental health and wellbeing, as well as diversity and inclusion issues. A former Royal Air Force Officer, she spent three years working in the international development sector running projects all over the world before moving into a portfolio career.

David Hayman - Trustee

David works on strategy for education charity Ark. He was formerly a strategist at Educate Girls, responsible for expansion over three new Indian regions, and Senior Head of Operations at The Prince's Trust. Before that he was a consultant at Accenture. David also helped set up educational charity Future First and is a trustee at Tackle Africa.

Polly Balsom - Trustee

Polly is Head of Communications and Marketing at Royal Trinity Hospice in London where she leads on messaging and campaign delivery. She previously worked at the charity Missing People where she was responsible for communications and partnership campaigns. Polly has worked across all fundraising disciplines as well as helping to establish HIV support charity Body & Soul’s social enterprise 'Brave'.

James Lee - Trustee

James works as Head of Service in Culture and Community Development and as Service Group Manager for Prevention, Inclusion and Public Health Commissioning at Lewisham Council.
