You’ll be supporting your local community in Tower Hamlets and Hackney, and play a key role in tackling loneliness and isolation across east London.
At the same time, you’ll be at the forefront of the national conversation around tackling loneliness. East London Cares is part of The Cares Family, a network of local charities that have connected 23,000 older and younger neighbours across the UK since 2011. Our model has demonstrated impact through two independent evaluations, and our founder worked with the government in 2018 to launch the first-ever government-level loneliness strategy at a Cares Family event.

We provide bespoke team volunteering sessions for our corporate partners. They’re a fantastic way for colleagues to bond and have fun, and make a direct impact by sharing time, laughter and friendship with older neighbours in our community. Volunteering opportunities include group social clubs with older neighbours, with activities ranging from quizzes to office parties. We can work with you to design activities that best utilise the interests and skills of your volunteers.
We can work with you to design an exciting calendar of team fundraising events for your employees to enjoy. From 5k fun runs to marathon walks, we have a wide range of events for your teams to get involved in. We also have our own unique challenges like the #RemoteRelay 10k, which are themed to the issue of loneliness. For those who’d prefer a less active challenge, we have resources to host bake sales, sweepstakes, and much more. Your teams will receive fundraising support and branded team materials like sign up forms and certificates.
We want your colleagues and customers to know the difference you’re making by partnering with us. We’ll share regular updates on the stories made possible by your donations and fundraising. At the end of our partnership, we’ll create a bespoke report.
