We're really excited to be hiring for our first two roles to get East London Cares up and running. In the Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator post we need a dynamic, determined people-person to identify hundreds of older and younger neighbours across the city and invite them to share time and experiences through our other core programmes. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
East London is one of the most exciting places in the world, rooted in creativity, commerce, migration and activism. It’s a microcosm of everything that makes London great: we have a proud and diverse heritage and we’re at the forefront of innovation in everything from art to tech.
But from the East End to the Docks, from Hackney Wick to Haggerston, the neighbourhoods that make this place so special continue to change at accelerated speed – and the new technologies, new skylines and the pace of life can often now leave many of us feeling anonymous, isolated and lonely.
That's why East London Cares exists: to bring together older and younger neighbours across Tower Hamlets and Hackney to share time, laughter, new experiences and friendship – so that everyone can feel part of our changing landscape, rather than left behind by it.
